Water Restrictions:Gwinnett County Remains in Level 2 Drought Response

April has brought some relief to the dry conditions in north Georgia.  Although we have seen a slight increase in the water levels at Lake Lanier, Gwinnett County – along with most of Metro Atlanta – remains in a Level 2 Drought Response.

A Level 2 Drought Response places a number of outdoor water use restrictions on residents, businesses and municipalities.  With sunny days and warm weather in the forecast, we would like to remind everyone of the current outdoor water use restrictions.  These include:
  • Specific days and hours for outdoor irrigation, on an odd/even schedule.
  • No non-commercial washing of vehicles.  This includes charity and non-commercial fund-raiser car washes.
  • No non-commercial pressure washing of buildings, structures, sidewalks, or other exterior hard surfaces.
  • No outdoor water use for ornamental purposes, such as fountains, reflecting pools, and waterfalls.
Follow this link for an FAQ that contains more details on the specific allowed and restricted outdoor water uses.  Additional information about the Level 2 Drought Response can be found on our website www.gwinnettH2O.com.
