Even after reading everything about the OZ , I still don’t quite understand. Is there a more simple interpretation?
Opportunity Zone (OZ)- This is a Job Tax Credit, within a defined area of our city (see map on inside pages). The credit is assessed by the number of jobs you create within a tax year and can benefit your company for up to 10 years, as long as the area retains its designation. Any business type can qualify
for the Credit but must be able to provide health insurance (employer does not have to pay
for it). Find more information within this publication, your accountant or the Economic Development Department (rwarner@norcrossga.net). As with all tax issues, we ask that you check with your accountant
before applying for credit.
