Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

  1. How do I find out what is happening in Downtown Historic Norcross in the shops and restaurants?

There is a monthly calendar printed out and distributed at each shop and restaurant - you can pick up one of those for free at any time. In addition, at this time, you can visit the current downtown website www.norcrossnow.com which has all the listings for February happenings in downtown.

  2. I am interested in securing City support for my event, and have been told there is a grant that includes financial support and/or in-kind City services. How do I apply for this grant?

There is a Grant Committee that is responsible for allocating City funds and resources into the community for events and activities. Grant guidelines can be downloaded by going to Community Resources.

  3. I have a really great idea for an event in Norcross - who do I talk to about getting it organized?

Great ideas are welcome! You can either contact the City Public Relations Manager, Tixie Fowler at tfowler@norcrossga.net, or contact Mary Beth Bender at mbender@norcrossga.net

  4. I have questions about an event - who do I talk to?

Many questions are easily answered by the main receptionist at City Hall - she can be reached by calling 770.448.2122.
If she is not able to help you, she will redirect you to either staff members Tixie Fowler or Mary Beth Bender, both of whom manage or are involved in most of the events in the City of Norcross.

  5. If there is going to be a big event scheduled in downtown Norcross, there are often street closings involved. How do I find out about related street closings and alternate routes?

This information will often be linked to the event information on the City website. If it is not, however, contact Chris LaFleur at cglafleur@norcrossga.net or Mary Beth Bender at mbender@norcrossga.net.

  6. Where do I go to find out how to volunteer with an event?

Most annual events have a specific website to which you can go and find out volunteer opportunities. That website should be listed under "Resources" on the City website. However, if you can't find that information, please contact the City Public Relations Manager, Tixie Fowler, at tfowler@norcrossga.net, and she can direct you to the proper contact.
