Tree Preservation
Trees Tree Preservation Ordinance
Established as a regulation in Chapter 113 of the City Code, the tree preservation ordinance establishes the standards necessary to ensure that the policy of no net loss of canopy coverage will be realized and that the city will continue to enjoy the benefits provided by its urban forest.

Appendix A of the ordinance references the approved species list necessary for meeting the planting requirements of the ordinance.

Historic Tree Walk Brochure
To further the appreciation and awareness of the tree canopy in the Norcross Historic District, a brochure was created which leads the reader on a self-guided tour. This half-mile walk through the city's Historic District highlights some of the tree species found throughout Georgia.

The brochure is available at the Welcome Center (189 Lawrenceville Street) and the second floor lobby at City Hall.

Norcross: Tree City USA
The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service. Norcross has met four standards to become a Tree City USA community. Tree City USA communities must have a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry program, and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.
