History Room in the Welcome Center & Museum

The Norcross Welcome Center and Museum holds many interesting artifacts from Norcross' history such as the city's original charter, an old fashioned notary seal, historic newspapers and the interesting photos of families that have lived for generations in our city.

In the Welcome Center, we have a series of panels dedicated to the history of Norcross -- its beginnings as a place for leisure and hospitality, its farming of cotton as a early industry, the people in its history that were instrumental in its growth. You'll find information about the history of Norcross schools, parks, shops and leisure.

Family History in the Welcome Center & Museum

We have recently completed an exhibit of histories of some of Norcross’ families that have been part of the community for many years. Indeed, some remain in the area to this day. Many of the homes of these families are represented on the panels. We feel that the stories and the homes, that can easily be seen on a walk around Norcross’ historic district, help make history come alive for our visitors and we are quite proud of this accomplishment.

You could spend a long time with us enjoying the information housed in our Welcome Center and we hope you will!
