MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS AND VOTER REGISTRATION

General Elections are held on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November of each year.  The next scheduled election date for the City of Norcross is November 2, 2010.   The elected officials' terms are for a period of two years.  Every odd year the position of Mayor and two council members are on the ballot and every even year, three council members are on the ballot.

If you wish to vote in City of State elections, you must first register.  To register to vote, you must:

In the state of Georgia, you do not have to register by political party to vote in the state's regular primaries or general elections.  All votes must be registered a minimum of 30 days prior to the election in which they intend to vote.

All applications must be postmarked by the voter registration deadline.  Registration forms are available through the Gwinnett County Elections Division by calling 770-822-8787, through the Georgia Secretary of State's office website, at local library branches or at Norcross City Hall.  Your social security number is also required at time of registration.

The Gwinnett County Voter Registration office (770/822-8787) processes all applications.  Approximately 2 - 4 weeks after mailing your application, you should receive a precinct identification card that will list your political districts and polling location for City, County, State and National elections.  When voting in City (municipal) elections, Norcross City Hall is the only polling precinct.  You will likely have a different voting precinct for any other election.

Please note that all residents within the corporate City Limits of Norcross are eligible to vote.  Although you may have a Norcross mailing address, you may not live within the corporate city limits.  If you are unsure, you may check your status by looking on this website under Residents, Do I live in the City or by calling City Hall at 678-421-2027.
