The Whistle Stop Farmers Market has gained a reputation as one of metro Atlanta's best fresh produce open air markets. Located alongside Norcross' beautifully renovated Thrasher Park, and just half a block from downtown Historic Norcross, the market offers shoppers an experience that goes even beyond good, healthy food. There are "organic crafts" and live music, and throughout the summer months, special educational and creative activities for the kids. Every week, adults enjoy cooking demos and information on how to incorporate sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices into a daily lifestyle.

 

Of course, healthy good food is the primary focus, and vendors are carefully selected based on the quality and variety of their offerings. Local farmers sell fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits, and are glad to discuss the organic practices they use to grow their crops. Fresh eggs, meats and milk are available, as are a variety of freshly baked breads, cakes and cookies.  Shoppers can shop for fresh pastas and cheeses, gourmet jellies and jams...literally a smorgasbord of homemade and homegrown treats to feast upon.                                                                     

 

Beginning the first Tuesday in May and continuing through the last Tuesday in September, the Whistle Stop Farmer's Market is a weekly experience that attracts hundreds of shoppers from all around Norcross and its surrounding communities.
