Council

The legislative authority of the government of the City of Norcross shall be vested in a city council to be composed of a mayor and five (5) councilmembers.  The mayor and councilmembers are elected on a two year staggered term of office, with the mayor and two councilmember being elected one year and three councilmembers the next.

No person shall be eligible to serve as mayor or councilmember unless he shall have been a resident of the city for a period of not less than one year immediately prior to the date of the election of mayor or member of the city council and shall continue to reside therein during such person's period of service, and shall be registered and qualified to vote in municipal elections of the City of Norcross.
