  1. How can I pay my utility bill? What form of payments do you accept?

    You can mail a check to 65 Lawrenceville Street, Norcross, GA 30071, or call 770-448-2122 and pay by Master Card/Visa/American Express/Discover or in person at City Hall with cash/check/Master card/Visa/American Express/Discover

  2. How do I change address/location of my business?

    Contact the Tax Officer at 678-421-2061.

  3. How do I close my business with the City of Norcross?

    Mail/Fax (770-448-5945) a written statement requesting to close your business or present the statement in person at City Hall.

  5. How do I go about opening a business in the City of Norcross?

    Please conplete the application at the attached link and submit to the General Government Department along with the required documents (Restaurant/Food Service: Health Inspection; Fire Inspection, Certificate of Occupancy; State Licenses - Barber/Beauty, etc.

  6. How long does the approval process take?

    Three to five business days, provided all forms, fees, and applications are correct and in order. The turnaround time is not guaranteed.

  7. Is the alcoholic beverage license fee refundable?

    Yes, provided the application is withdrawn prior to issuance of the license. The fee is not refundable if the application is withdrawn after the license is issued.

  8. Is the business license fee refundable?

    No

  9. Is the fee collected at the time the application is made?

    No. Because the fee is non-refundable, it is not collected until the license is approved and issued.

  10. Is the license fee paid upon application, or upon issuance of a license?

    The application fee is paid upon picking up the application.
    Once the application is returned, and investigation fee is collected.
    Once the application is approved, an Alcoholic Beverage fee is required.

    Note: The application and investigation fees are non-refundable, even if the license is not ultimately approved.

  11. The business has more than one location. Will one alcoholic beverage license apply to all locations?

    No. A license must be issued for each location.

  12. The business has moved locations. Is a new license required?

    Yes. The business must apply for a new license.

  13. The business has moved locations; does it have to renew the business license?

    Yes. This applies to all location changes. Because the business license fee is a type of occupational tax, it is issued based primarily on the location being occupied.

  14. What do I do when I want to discontinue services?

    Complete a disconnect notice in person or via fax (770-448-5945) (which can be found online)

  15. What will happen if my bill is not paid by the 15th of the month?

    Your account will be accessed a 10% penalty (of the balance due on the account) and a $5 notice fee.

  16. When are business licenses due for renewal?

    Alcohol Licenses: December 31st of each year
    Regular Licenses: March 31st of each year

  17. When are my taxes due?

    Taxes are due by November 15th of the calendar year for the specific property tax statement.

  18. When is my utility bill due?

    Bills are due by 5 p.m. on the 15th of the month.

  19. When will I get my property tax statement?

    Statements are mailed out on September 15th of each calendar year.

  20. Who performs the property value assessment?

    Gwinnett County performs all property value assessments. The City of Norcross does not perform any type of property value assessment.

  21. How do I request a reread? Do I need to wait until the 15th to make this request?

    Re-Reads on Water/Sewer and Electric can be requested by calling the General Government Department 770-448-2122 or in person, M-F 8:00am - 5:00pm before the 10th of the month.
