The men and women of the Norcross Police Department are highly trained and committed to providing professional law enforcement services to the Norcross community.
The Norcross Police Department is a progressive community-oriented law enforcement agency that has achieved international accreditation by CALEA and state certification by the State of Georgia Certification Program. Our department has an authorized strength of 42 sworn officers, 15 full time civilian employees to serve the public safety needs of our citizens and visitors. Our police jurisdiction covers an area of 6.1 square miles with a citizen population of approximately 15,000 and a daytime population of approximately 40,000.
The department is comprised of three sections:
The Office of the Chief is comprised of the Chief of Police, an Administrative Coordinator and an Administrative Fiscal Coordinator. The Chief of Police is responsible for the overall operations of the police department and sets the short-term and long-term goals and objectives, as well as planning for the future needs of the department.
Support Services is commanded by a Captain, who answers directly to the Chief of Police and is responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of the Records Section, State and International Accreditation Programs, Internal Affairs, Criminal Investigations Unit, Evidence and Property Control and Crime Analysis.
Field Operations is commanded by a Captain, who answers directly to the Chief of Police and is responsible for the day to day management and supervision of four Patrol Shifts, K-9 Unit, Communications, COPS and Special Operations.
