The Office of the Chief of Police consists of Chief of Police, Administrative Coordinator - Office of the Chief and Administrative Coordinator - Fiscal Management.

Chief Summers began his law enforcement career in 1976 with the police department in the City of Stockbridge, Georgia. In 1978 Chief Summers became a Sheriff's Deputy for the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office in Conyers, Georgia. During his tenure with the Sheriff's Office, Chief Summers worked in various capacities including patrol division supervisor and assistant commander, traffic division supervisor, criminal investigation division commander, Executive Officer and Commander of the East Metro Drug Enforcement Team, a multi-jurisdictional drug task force. As the criminal investigation division commander, Chief Summers was responsible for the investigation of crimes ranging from petty thefts to homicides. Additionally, he has worked as the Chief Investigator for the Rockdale Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office. Summers retired from Rockdale County in 2006, shortly after he earned his Bachelor's degree and a Juris Doctor degree.
In 2009, Chief Warren became an assistant District Attorney. He was most recently the drug prosecutor for the Alcovy Judicial Circuit's Newton County office, handling felony drug prosecutions and asset forfeiture. CHief Summers is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice law in the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia. He is a member of the Newton County Bar Association and is the past-president of the Rockdale Bar Association.

The Field Operations Division is commanded by a Captain, who oversees the day to day operations of the following sections:
Uniform Patrol Shifts
Responsible for the initial response to calls for service, traffic accident investigations, traffic
enforcement and uniform patrolling of the city. Each of the Patrol Shift is supervised by a Shift Lieutenant and a Shift Sergeant, with an average of four additional uniform police
officers assigned to each shift.
Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU)
Dedicated traffic enforcement unit responsible for the enforcement of motor vehicle offense and the investigation of traffic accidents within the City of Norcross. The TEU operates specially marked patrol units and motorcycles. Members of the TEU have received advanced training in motor vehicle laws and accident investigations. The TEU reports directly to the Field Operations Commander.

Captain Thompson has been a member of the Norcross Police Department since 1993. He oversees the day to day operations of the three Uniform Patrol Shifts and Investigation section. Captain Thompson is a veteran of the US Army and is a certified law enforcement instructor.

The Support Services Division is commanded by a Captain. Support Services encompasses: Communications / Records, Investigations,
Evidence, Professional Standards and Property Control
The Support Services Division also manages the agency's internal affairs, CALEA and State of Georgia Certification Programs and the employment testing process.
The Support Services Commander for the City of Norcross Police Department. The Support Services Division is comprised of; Communications, Investigations, Professional Standards, Evidence a/ Property and Records.
The Support Services Commander is also responsible for applicant testing and background investigations and the management of national accreditation and state certification. Captain Harr holds a BA in Business Administration from Mercer University and has been in law enforcement since 1979 and is presently attending Command College at Columbus State University.
