The Director of Public Works, Utilities and Parks manages the various public works departments such as street and highways, storm water and parks as well as the public utilities including power, water, sewer, and sanitation.

Mr. Craig A. Mims became Director of Public Works, Utilities & Parks in June of 2007.
Prior to joining the Norcross staff, Mr. Mims served as the Director of Public Works and Zoning Official for the City of Avondale Estates. Mr. Mims received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Troy State University, certificate of public works management from the Carl Vinson Institute of Government and an advanced certification in public works management from the American Public Works Institute.
Mr. Mims is also an active member of the American Public Works Association, Georgia Association of City-County Management and the Georgia Association of Code Enforcement.

Norcross Power has 2 main sub-stations in the city with a total of seven circuits. There are approximately 25 tie points within the system to make back-feeding between circuits during an outage faster and more dependable. Off system, Norcross Power has 3 more stations in Cumming, John's Creek and Tucker. Norcross Power combined with its Metering Department has eleven employees.

Steve Gaines began working for the Norcross Electrical Department in 1990. While employed with the City, he completed the Lineman Apprenticeship Program by the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association. He holds a certificate in management from Carl Vinson Institute and is currently working on his third and final certification of Line Design and Staking from Power Delivery Associates.

The Public Works Administration Department manages the various public works entities for the city. This department is in charge of contruction, repair and maintenance of all city owned property as well as coordinating equipment and manpower between the various public works department and other departments within the city. Maintenance of street signs and right-of-way's also are done by this department. Maintenance of all streets, parks, water, sewer and storm water are the responsiblities of the Public Works Department.

John Davis, Public Works Superintendent, is an 18 year veteran with the City of Norcross. John is responsible for highways, streets, parks, water, sewer and storm water. He is also in charge of all street signs and right-of-way maintenance. Mr. Davis is responsible for all building maintenance and fleet maintenance for the City Staff.
John attended Calhoun State Community College earning an Associates Degree in Business Management. John is currently attending the Carl Vinson Institute of Government working towards certification as a Public Works Manager.
