February 2015- Members of the City Council were in overwhelming support of a request to expand the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) area. The expansion covers all commercially zoned properties.

Expansion of the Development Authority area simply allows the Authority more interaction with our Economic Development Department. We are now able to assist with ALL redevelopment projects in your area and will have a say in their prioritization. According to Rusty Warner, of the Economic Development Department, "The expansion of the Development Authority will bring a different vision to my department to help create jobs and new business corridors, especially clusters of technology and bioscience-based companies. The expanded DDA will also help with new ideas and a 'fresh perspective.' We have a diverse community, in search of new living styles. The work-where-you-live idea is still alive, and Norcross will once again be taking the lead much faster, with the advocacy of the Development Authority.”
