Overview
The primary purpose of the Parks, Green Spaces, and Trails Commission is to advise and provide recommendations to the City Council regarding the best use, planning and development, maintenance, and related projects for these spaces with the main objective of beautifying and preserving the city's natural resources through conservation measures.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Norcross Parks, Green Spaces, & Trails Commission shall have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Formulate plans for the best use, development and maintenance of the parks, green spaces, and trails within Norcross
- Recommend improvements for existing parks, green spaces, and trials and their infrastructure
- Assess opportunities for the provision of recreational programs and events for residents of all ages and stages of life
- Assemble committees as necessary to obtain public input on relative projects
- Make recommendations on aspects such as landscaping, planting, weed and erosion control, upkeep of trails, signage and any activities within the parks system
Meetings
PGT meets on the third Thursday of each month at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall in the 2nd floor conference room.

PGT is a five-member board serving four-year terms. A minimum of four members shall be citizens of the City.
