Business License

Overview


The Tax Officer is responsible for processing all applications for business license located in the corporate city limits of Norcross. New businesses as well as those that are changing names, changing ownership, or moving to a new location within the city must all obtain a new business license. To be sure that you are within the city limits, please contact our Community Development Department at 678-421-2027. If your business is not located within the city limits, please contact the Gwinnett County Licensing and Revenue Office at 678-377-4100 for further information.


The following items are required for the city to issue a business license:


Commercial Businesses

  • A current Certificate of Occupancy - issued by the City of Norcross Building Official
  • A completed Commercial Business License Application
  • A current lease agreement or proof of ownership
  • A valid government issued ID
  • Applicable fees based on the number of employees and the date of application
  • Confirmation of the sanitation account # if landlord provides


Home Based Businesses

  • A completed Home-based Business License Application
  • Approval from the Community Development Director
  • A current lease agreement or proof of ownership
  • A valid government issued ID
  • Applicable fees based on the number of employees and the date of application
